Recently re-named 'Absinthe'. I don't know if it's still related to Abraxas.Latest: Apparently it's now a non-smoking bar (see comments below). This is a great shame as Amsterdam is a remarkably non-24 hour city. All coffeeshops and most bars close by 1 AM in the week and 3 AM at weekends. The only other late bar that I know of where pot smoking was accepted has closed down completely. If you know of another smoker's late bar, please let us all know about it.
[It was] A smoker's bar rather than a coffeeshop. You can't buy cannabis here, for that you have to go round the corner to the Abraxas coffeeshop. You can, however, smoke here long after the coffeeshops have closed because it's open 'til 3 a.m. in the week and 4 a.m. at weekends.
Entry is via a low door. Inside it's a long narrow vault with attractive mosaic mirrors along the walls.
Live DJs every night playing various genres of dance music.

The Abraxas nightbar is now a strange non-weedsmoking bar called Absinthe. I asked if I could light up in there and got a rude NO from the bartender (hehe they've probably had a lot of people walk in and start smoking).
